1. Establish a priority list

You're doing everything wrong if you're not already prioritizing your tasks!

Prioritizing the tasks on your schedule is an effective way to deal with it because it emphasizes what needs to be done first. Knowing this information can also help you manage your time and meet all of your deadlines.

You could try “eating the frog” as a method of prioritizing. Brian Tracy popularized this method in his book Eat That Frog! If you're the type of person who says yes to every request that comes your way, it's no surprise that you have a full schedule. Taking on more tasks and responsibilities than you can handle can lead to the “I hate working” mentality.

While saying no may not come naturally to some people, it is a skill that should be honed if you want to work within your capabilities. Overcommitment can wear you down and cause additional pressure and stress.

Delegating tasks is another way to manage a busy schedule if you have the ability to do so. Knowing how to delegate effectively is a necessary skill for anyone in a leadership position. It will not only lighten your workload, but it will also free up your time, allowing you to spend it on something you enjoy.

Effective delegation entails more than just yelling orders. For example, you must first identify the skills required to complete the task and then decide who will be best suited to do it.
