It's great to be ambitious, and it's also perfectly acceptable to take on a lot of work and accomplish as much as you can during the day. When you take on too much, however, you stretch yourself too thin and burn out quickly.

If you are overburdened by the number of projects you are pursuing, you are less likely to want to complete them. If you fall behind, you lose motivation and end up not enjoying the tasks you're supposed to complete and losing the drive to complete them.
