When it comes to dating and relationships, we all want to find our “best match” — someone who checks off the majority of the compatibility boxes, understands our quirks, and complements our personality. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test is one way to investigate compatibility indicators.
In this article, we will look at one of the personality types — ENFP — and their relationships. Who are ENFPs compatible with, and how should they handle their romantic relationships?

Relationships and Myers-Briggs Personality Types
The Myers-Briggs Personality Types test is based on the assumption that different attitudes and functions of consciousness exist.
Your attitudes direct the flow of your conscious interests and energies. The phenomenon is based on Jung's personality classification.
Jung's personality classification is based on two personality attitudes (introversion and extroversion) and four functions divided into irrational (intuition and feeling) and rational functions (Judging and perceiving functions).
The Myers-Briggs Personality Types assessment tool assists you in evaluating and understanding yourself: who you are, how you interact with others, how you make decisions, and your psychological preferences when it comes to dating.
For example, you can use the Myers-Briggs Personality Types to help you figure out what the common thread is between your exes and crushes and, as a result, discover the type of partner with whom you should spend your life.
ENFP personality traits include extrovert, intuition, feelings, and perception.
ENFPs account for 8% of the global population. ENFPs are self-sufficient, energetic, and compassionate. They make enticing partners, and they are quick to express their dependability and devotion. They genuinely care about their partners and are acutely aware of their partners' needs.
Among the most well-known ENFPs are:
- Sandra Bullock is a famous actress.
- Oscar Wilde was a writer who lived in the United States
- Walt Disney Jr.
- Keira Knightley is a British actress.
- Daniel Radcliffe is a British actor.
- Castro, Fidel
- Twain, Mark
- Rushdle, Salman
- Ellen Degeneres is a well-known television personality.
- Jeniffer Anniston's formal name is Jennifer Anniston.
- Sharon Stone is a famous actress.
- Here are some of the major characteristics of ENFP:
- They are unpredictably unpredictable.
- ENFPs follow their inspiration wherever it may take them.
They enjoy expressing their creative and spirited sides. An ENFP wants to investigate every possible idea that comes to mind.
Nothing annoys an ENFP more than the feeling of being shackled, and they will not put their personal development on the back burner.
An ENFP's ideal partner will engage them in new thoughts and ideas while also exposing them to scenarios that will challenge them. Otherwise, the ENFP will begin to question whether they should be spending time with someone else.
2. They have excellent communication skills.
ENFPs are distinguished by their exceptional ability to communicate. Because they have a good understanding of the people around them, they are sensitive to their partners' emotions and can resolve issues constructively.
3. They despise conflict.
- The process of resolving conflict for the ENFP is concerned with making everyone happy.
- Even in difficult situations, ENFPs see possibilities beyond the obvious. They are extremely empathetic and find it difficult to punish others.
- What ENFP relationships look like with each Meyer's Briggs Type
- A partner who can go with the flow is a good match for an ENFP. An ENFP partner's rigidity and strictness in their schedule will cause the relationship to fail.
For a relationship to last, an ENFP partner should be willing to travel and try new hobbies. The good news is that because ENFPs enjoy making their partners happy, a partner's efforts and sacrifices will be rewarded.
It's difficult for some of the other personality types to be dumped by an ENFP. They're not sure if they'll ever find someone as wonderful again. When ENFPs are rejected, on the other hand, they recover quickly and focus on new opportunities. Oh, and they bounce back quickly.
ENFPs make excellent partners.
ENFP personality types are most compatible with INTJ and INFJ.
People are drawn to a partner who is strong in areas where they are weak when it comes to dating and marriage. As a result, ENFPs have a lot of success with INTJs and INFJs.
Relationships between ENFPs and INTJs:
Because they both thrive in the world of ideas, ENFPs and INTJs will get along and have a natural spark.
Life is full of possibilities and excitement for the ENFP, and they will exude a contagious enthusiasm that will entice the INTJ.
The ENFP will also open the INTJ's mind to many possibilities that they may not have been aware of previously, while the INTJs will harness the ENFP's ideas and insights and give them clarity and focus to bring them to life.
Because INTJs are reserved and introverted, they will find comfort and delight in the playful and genuinely open-minded ENFPs.
Relationships between ENFPs and INFJs:
ENFPs and INFJs have very successful relationships as well. Experts say that both ENFPs and INFJs are highly intuitive people, and that despite their fundamental differences, they both want the same things.
While INFJs want to be understood and helped to come out of their shell, ENFPs genuinely enjoy meeting the needs of their partners. This strikes an excellent balance between the two partners.
Furthermore, while ENFPs are extroverted, INFJs are more introspective, and they understand how to assist ENFPs in their emotional development. In fact, the ENFPs are the only partners who are persistent enough to get to know an INFJ.
ENFPs and INFJs do not enjoy conflict. As a result, when they disagree on something, their efforts to reach an agreement are unlikely to result in a fight.
Other Myers-Briggs Type Indicators Relationships with ENFPs are best formed by the following personality types:
ESFJ: Under certain conditions, ESFJs can become extremely pessimistic and discouraged. As a result, ENFPs are very understanding and supportive of them.
ENFJ: ENFJs are extremely perceptive and enjoy discussing important issues. They, like ENFPs, have excellent communication skills, and as a result, ENFPs enjoy their company.
INTPs are thinkers who are interested in ideas and theories. Their relationships with ENFPs are very successful because ENFPs have a natural ability to understand people.
ENFPs have a reasonable number of compatible partners.
ENFPs and INFPs are equally passionate, but their perceptions of the world around them are vastly different.
Relationships between ENFPs and INFPs:
ENFPs enjoy talking and can go on and on about it. INFPs, on the other hand, are reserved and calm, and they enjoy listening. As a result, the two personality types complement each other perfectly.
ENFPs are highly social creatures. They enjoy making those around them happy. INFPs prefer to work behind the scenes. They are creative and artistic, and as a result, they attract ENFPs.
Both personalities rely on intuition and can hold lengthy discussions. ENFPs and INFPs can express their emotions in unconventional ways, which keeps their spark alive.
Other Myers-Briggs Type Indicators Personality The following personality types can have a reasonably healthy relationship with the ENFP:
- ENTP: ENTPs are self-assured and can socialize with anyone with unwavering charm. As a result, they make good partners for ENFPs, who are social butterflies.
- ENTJ: ENTJs are logical thinkers who enjoy planning. They provide structure in the lives of ENFPs.
- ISFPs are action-oriented people who prefer to do rather than think. They are a good match for ENFPs because they can assist them in achieving their goals.
- ESFP: Like the ENFPs, the ESFPs enjoy new experiences and are often impulsive. As a result, they get along well with ENFPs.
- Females outnumber males in the ENFP population by a factor of two.
- ENFPs are unlikely to find compatible partners.
ISTJs are among the Myers-Briggs Personality Types who would struggle to form meaningful relationships with ENFPs. The ISTJ-ENFP relationship has four differences and zero similarities.
Relationships between ENFPs and ISTJs:
The ENFPs may perceive the ISTJs as too quiet and find it difficult to communicate with them. The ENFPs, on the other hand, may be too loud for ISTJs. In a social setting, ISTJs may feel ignored and unheard by ENFPs.
The ISTJs may prefer to spend their time alone at home, whereas the ENFPs enjoy going out for social activities and other highly stimulating activities. This preference difference would be a source of conflict in the relationship.
ENFPs may find ISTJs too controlling at times, while ISTJs may find the ENFP's lack of planning and scheduling irritating.
Furthermore, ISTJs are more concerned with the present, whereas ENFPs are concerned with the future. This may result in the loss of a couple of shared goals and a shared future to look forward to. The couple will eventually lose their chemistry.
Other personality types who would struggle to maintain a relationship with ENFPs are:
ISTPs are analytical, practical, and realistic people. They are also inept at dealing with emotions. They may not be appealing to ENFPs at all.
ESTP: ESTPs are realists who aren't particularly emotional. As a result, they are unlikely to be compatible with ENFPs.
ESTJ: ESTJs are opinionated and lack spontaneity. They are rigid and can come across as controlling. They value traditions and routines and prefer to conduct their relationship in the traditional manner. As a result, they are at odds with ENFPs.
ISFJ: ISFJs are not particularly forward-thinking. Indeed, they would prefer to rely on previous experiences. This is diametrically opposed to ENFPs.
Having said that, keep in mind that Myers-Briggs Types is simply a tool for learning more about people's natural preferences.
While understanding your own and other people's preferences is a huge advantage in relationships, nothing is set in stone. You cannot rule out a potential partner simply because Myers-Briggs says you are not compatible.
Also, if you do not end up with someone with whom you are compatible, the Myers and Briggs Relationship Type can be used to spark a discussion about how you can meet halfway to build a more healthy relationship.
Again, contrary to what the Myers-Briggs types suggest, ENFPs can have satisfying relationships with any personality type if both partners are committed to personal growth and effective communication.
Remember that relationships are about more than just meeting “the one.” They are never a ‘meet the right one and ride off into the sunset' type scenario, even if you have great chemistry and click to the moon and back. They require effort to survive and thrive.
The Myers-Briggs type indicators are just that: indicators. They aren't a magic bullet to long-term relationship bliss.
