How to Save a Friendship (The Ultimate Guide + Image Quotes)

Having good friends can help you live a happier, more connected life. Friendships, on the other hand, can be difficult to maintain at times. We all have a lot of obligations competing for our time: hectic schedules, needy family members, demanding jobs, volunteer responsibilities, and so on. Even though friendships are often the first thing to go when time is limited, maintaining contact with friends is critical to living a happy life. Here are ten ways to take your friendships from bad to great.

1. Schedule time for your friends

Say yes the next time one of your friends calls and asks you to do something. Spending time together will help to bring your relationship back from the brink of disaster.

2. Provide a thoughtful gift

If your relationship is already on the rocks, you'll need to put in a little extra effort. A thoughtful gift is the simplest way to show someone you care. It demonstrates to someone that you took time out of your busy schedule to do something nice for them. You don't have to spend a lot of money; you could simply send them their favorite snack.

3. Make a note of it

Don't you enjoy receiving mail? What about mail that isn't a bill? Your friend will as well. A handwritten note is one of the most pleasant things to receive. It doesn't have to be complicated; simply letting your friend know you're thinking about them will go a long way.

4. Reminisce with your friend about the good times

We go through rough patches with friends from time to time because there are too many arguments and not enough laughs. If you're having trouble getting past a disagreement, remind your friend of a fun time you had together. This will assist him or her in associating your friendship with pleasant memories.

5. Express regret

Conflict is one of the most common reasons for the demise of a friendship. Did you get into a fight? Or do you harbor a grudge? Even if you don't believe you did anything wrong, apologizing is the quickest way to get over it. You could say something like, “I'm sorry for hurting your feelings…” By validating your friend's feelings, you will be able to move past the disagreement and re-establish your friendship.

6. Make a phone call to a friend

A friendship can die simply because we fail to make time for each other. Simply pick up the phone to put an end to this slow, agonizing death. Inform your friend that you are thinking of them. Maybe even make plans to see each other again.

7. Make a lunch date

The simplest way to reconnect is to get together. Lunch is one of my favorite ways to catch up with friends. Lunch is relaxed, and it is usually a highlight of everyone's day. So, by meeting for lunch, your friend will associate you with a fun time that he or she anticipates.

8. Plan a regular activity that you can do together

A scheduled activity is preferable to a one-time lunch date. Plan to go for a walk once a week or to go shopping once a month. Friends can make even the most mundane activities more enjoyable.

9. Do something exciting as a group

Adrenaline creates connections quickly. Consider zip-lining, rock climbing, or running a race with your friends. This way, you can triumph over a challenge while also triumphing over a dying friendship.

10. Take an interest in your friend's life

When you get together with friends, make sure you don't just talk about yourself. Inquire about their life and show that you are interested in what they are saying. You can provide advice and support where it is needed, and you can establish yourself as a trusted adviser and confidant.

Make an effort to maintain your friendships. They can make you laugh when you need to laugh and give you support when you need someone to lean on. Life can be lonely and boring without friends. So, pick up the phone today and turn your shaky friendships into stronger than ever.
