We each have our own unique path, and only you will know if something doesn't feel right or what you really want to be doing.

Other people's opinions can also obscure your own, which can prevent you from living the life you truly desire.

Here are ten signs that you need to make a major life change. See if any of these resonate with you, and then make the decision to seize this one life and live it to the fullest.

  • You find your thoughts wandering to better ways of being.
  • You romanticize the past to get away from the present.
  • Your actions do not match your words.
  • You have the impression that you are settling.
  • You are dissatisfied with life.
  • Your relationships appear to be superficial.
  • To avoid the truth, you begin to lie to yourself and others.
  • You're feeling numb.
  • You avoid unexpected opportunities because you are afraid of the unknown or what others will say.
  • You see someone who has a wonderful life and want what they have.

Start where you are if any of these resonate with you. Maybe you're stuck and don't know where to start. The best place to start may be to pause and consider what you want to do, where you want to live, and who you want to spend your time with.

Take a pen and paper and go to a quiet place, preferably in nature, to answer the following questions:

  • From morning to night, how do I want to spend my time?
  • What do I want to do?
  • What kind of people do I want to hang out with?
  • What is the most pressing issue in my life right now, and to whom can I turn for advice or a sounding board?
  • What are the reasons I feel I can't, shouldn't, or won't have the life I want?
  • Write yourself a letter explaining why you CAN have the life you want and what you might do to get there. You have so many answers inside of you!

Many great masters in a wide range of professions, careers, and life choices have made complete 180-degree turns. They either felt one or more of the ten rumblings mentioned above at some point in their lives, or something ruptured in their lives and caused them to reconsider everything.

Spend some time researching successful people who have achieved whatever it is you desire and are living the life you desire. Look at how they did it and maybe read about their humble or difficult beginnings. Get motivated!

So seize the day, live the life you were born to live, and don't let another moment pass without changing your course. You may take longer to arrive at your destination, but you will be on a different path.
