Setting daily intentions is one of the most effective visualization techniques. It is all too easy to get out of bed and go about your day with no purpose or direction. Daily intentions focus your attention, put you in a good mood, and commit you to your goals.
How Do Daily Intentions Function?
A daily intention activates your reticular activation system (RAS). Your RAS is essentially a data filter. Every day, your brain is bombarded with information, and it simply cannot absorb all of the colors, noises, and facts, so it filters them based on your belief system.

For example, suppose you buy a new car that you believe is unique because you have never seen one before, and then you notice it everywhere you go. That is your RAS system in action.
This part of your brain can be put to good use. If you direct your focus or brain filter to your goals with a specific intention, your brain will automatically filter through all of the information you receive and present you with information relevant to your goal. That is why they are so effective: you are rewiring your brain biology to work in your favor.
It is a tremendously effective tool for shifting from negative to positive thinking. Your brain is constantly searching and filtering; all you have to do is put on the right filter.
