Do you ever wish you could just press the pause button on life and start over with no negative consequences?
Regrettably, time is linear. Time, on the other hand, is a social construct. In other words, you are in charge of your own life timeline, and you should not compare your goals and achievements to those of others.

Taking a long, hard look at your life to get to the root of the change you want to see will be beneficial to you. Considering what you would change in your life could help you determine what you should pursue in the near future.
So, how do you begin a new life?
The good news is that you don't have to do a Madonna and completely reinvent yourself every time you want to change things up.
You can start a new life without making a big deal out of it if you make the 12 small but significant changes outlined below.
1. Always try to learn something new
Perhaps you've achieved success in your career, only to discover that you crave more.If you are bored with your current job or feel stuck in it, consider expanding your options.
Pursuing additional education is one way to make yourself more competitive in various career fields. Most of us do not have the time or resources to devote to attending classes on a college campus.
Fortunately, online universities are nationally recognized and less expensive than traditional in-person education. Consider enrolling in some asynchronous online classes that work around your work schedule so you don't have to disrupt your life to get ahead.
2. Face Your Fears by Taking Action
It's amazing how many of our choices are motivated by fear. We avoid taking risks, avoid having difficult conversations, and miss out on opportunities because we are afraid of the consequences.
Here's how it works:
Taking reasonable risks can transform your life overnight. If you've had your eye on a certain attractive person at your local coffee shop, take a chance and ask them out for a drink. The worst that can happen to you is that your ego will be slightly bruised. Even if they are already in a relationship or are simply uninterested, your compliments may have brightened their day.
Don't live your life with too many regrets. Returning to that coffee shop after being turned down is just another chance to confront your fears.
3. Keep a Meaningful Social Circle
Most of us have heard the adage, “you are only as good as the company you keep.” Extending your horizons to include new and interesting people could be the spice you've been looking for in your life.
Examine your friendships, family, and professional relationships as a whole. Make a mental list of the relationships that have the greatest positive impact on you and why. Take that checklist with you the next time you attend a social gathering. Make an effort to strike up a conversation with new and interesting people who fit those criteria.
Don't forget where this exercise began while you're out being a social butterfly. Make certain that you do not abandon your old, long-term friends while cultivating new friendships and relationships. You don't want to be known as “that guy” among your friends.
4. Discover Healthy Anxiety Coping Strategies
You are not alone if you experience excessive anxiety in your daily life. In the United States, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness. Every year, they affect 40 million people over the age of 18, accounting for 18.1 percent of the US population.
Finding healthy coping mechanisms for anxiety has the potential to turn your world upside down. Many people have turned to CBD to help them relax and manage their anxiety. It can be used to treat anxiety as it arises, rather than as a daily medication.
CBD is not widely prescribed by mental health professionals, at least not yet. Some have compared it to a glass of red wine at the end of a long day. However, it is critical to practice self-awareness and recognize when you are negatively self-medicating with overconsumption.
The real kicker is this:
Anything you do to unwind can be done excessively: exercise, Netflix, drinking, or shopping. Choose an activity that will help you relieve your anxiety in a healthy way that you can do in moderation.
5. Participate in a Movement
You know how much time you waste scrolling through social media admiring other people's lives? They could, however, be better spent.
As humans, we are wired to want to connect with others and to feel as if we are needed. Finding a cause to support can help you feel as if you are contributing to the greater good. There are many different opportunities to focus your time and energy to help you feel needed, whether it is a social justice issue or an environmental movement.
This does not necessarily imply that you must be protesting every weekend in order to feel as if you are effecting change. Making minor changes in your life can have a significant impact.
Using your purchasing power to only support businesses that place sustainability at the forefront of their operations is a powerful decision. Small actions like this have prompted large corporations to reconsider their business practices. Spending your money wisely gives you a sense of empowerment.
6. Take Charge
It is all too easy to go through life as a bystander. The good news is that you don't have to give up anything to regain control of your life.
Take control of a specific aspect of your life to gain control of your life. It could be as simple as no longer taking public transportation and instead relying on your own physical strength to get to your destination.
Knowing you can rely on yourself to make it to work on time in the morning is extremely empowering. Break free from passivity and take command of your own ship.
7. Be Aware of Your Dreams
If you're feeling unfulfilled in your life but aren't sure why, consider exploring the esoteric side of life. If you give yourself the mental space to do it, diving into your subconscious can be liberating and freeing.
Although not everyone remembers their dreams, keeping a dream journal next to your bed can help train your brain. Dreams can reveal unconscious hopes and fears that we either ignore or prefer to be free of during the day.
Understanding the meaning of your dreams is similar to learning a new language in that it requires you to pay attention to clues, signs, and symbols.
Pay attention if you are the type of person who recalls having recurring dreams! Your subconscious is communicating with you. But here's the catch:
Dreams are irrational and a product of our psyche that we will never fully understand. Don't make any rash decisions in life because a little blue man in your dream told you to.
8. Unplug to Unleash Creativity
What device are you using to read this? Are you using your phone or your computer? So, once you've finished reading about how to begin your new life, unplug it.
Being constantly connected to technology causes mental fatigue, leaving little energy for creative processes. Spending time in nature allows the prefrontal cortex of the brain to rest.
Find out what inspires you in life and use it to take the new life you're looking for to new heights. Your muse may appear in unexpected places. To allow more inspiration into your life, be more open to saying “yes” more often.
9. Push Past Your Comfort Zones
You must step outside of your comfort zone if you want to break free from a life of stagnation. But don't put on that bungee cord harness just yet. You don't have to take unreasonable risks that jeopardize certain aspects of your life.
When you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, you will discover what you are capable of when put to the test. It's natural to want to unwind in your comfort zone after working so hard to get there, but there comes a time when you have to step up.
Set your sights on the next achievable goal and go for it. Set up a rigorous training schedule if you've always wanted to run a marathon. Learn how to overcome the pain and mental blocks that have prevented you from being your own champion.
Dig deep within yourself, determine where you want to set your hard ceiling, and work hard to achieve your goals so that you can live your best life — you deserve it.
10. Practice Mindfulness on a Daily Basis
Integrate a mindfulness practice into your daily routine if you want to turn your entire world upside down. Meditation, yoga, journaling, or breath work require nothing more than a commitment to being in the present moment.
You might be rereading the title of this article because you believe these words will persuade you to become a monk and take a vow of silence. You don't have to take your mindfulness practice to the extreme.
Meditation is referred to as a practice because it takes time to become accustomed to sitting still and focusing for extended periods of time. You will be relieved to learn, however, that the effects of meditation are immediate. Simply taking five deep breaths at your desk during a stressful day will help to lower your blood pressure and aid in regaining mental focus and clarity to get you through the day.
11. Examine Your Financial Situation
Money is the root of all evil, but it is also the driving force behind why we get out of bed and go to work every day. The less money you spend, the less time you have to work. Isn't that a better way to live your life?
To be able to pursue a path in life that allows you to feel more fulfilled and happy, you must first understand your financial limits. If the new life you envision is on a beach, you won't have to sell your family heirlooms to get there. Instead, make a budget and a plan for yourself so that you can save and make your dreams a reality.
12. Demonstrated Goodness
If you are thinking about starting a new life or changing how you present yourself to the world, you must first decide what you want the new version to look like.
Is it your intention to shift your focus away from your career in order to spend more time with your family in your new life?
Creating a vision board is one method for manifesting the goodness you desire in your life. Flipping through magazines and newspapers for people, places, and things that help define your dreams can be an eye-opening experience. Certain words that you did not previously associate with yourself may now be more appealing than ever.
Doesn't that sound ridiculous? It isn't. Consider making them with friends or family members to see if their perception of you has any bearing on your future plans. Friends and family members can serve as mirrors for us at times. Seeing them surprised by your interest in various things may cause you to reconsider your decision or pursue it with greater zeal.
Keep coming back to the board to remind yourself of what you're working on. It is natural for projections to shift over time. It's not a bad idea to make a new vision board every year to refocus and fine-tune your intentions as you grow as a person.
