Here's more evidence of why the finish is so important. People rate the quality of life higher when it ends better, regardless of how short it was. This is commonly referred to as the James Dean Effect.

1. Make a list of your objectives
According to one study, people who write down their goals have an 80% chance of achieving them. You can keep a Goal Journal or use the S.M.A.R.T. goal-setting technique.

As I previously stated, momentum is essential for a strong finish. When you reach each of the milestones, you will gain momentum. Darren Hardy recommends consistency in his book as a sure way to generate all the momentum.
How do you gain traction by being consistent? Hardy suggests five concrete steps to take:
Create a Morning Routine
According to Hardy, you may find it difficult to control your mid-day, but you can control how you begin and end the day. Create your own rise-and-shine routine. Perform your Most-Important-Task (M.I.T.) first thing in the morning.
Make a schedule for the evening
This is the time when you cash out on your day, according to Hardy. It's time to evaluate whether you accomplished everything you set out to do that day. You can ask yourself the following questions:
- Which items must I carry over to the M.I.T. list for the next day?
- What task on my to-do list is still active?
- Which of the tasks must I cancel?
- Reorganize Your Routine
Doing the same thing over and over can become monotonous. As a result, make your plan more exciting. Visit a park, try a new recipe, or enroll in a short online course. Changing up your routine will naturally help you gain momentum.

Keep track of new behaviors and the number of times you practice them. You can then compare your objectives to the outcome.

What you say has an impact on how well you complete your tasks. Positive self-talk is a tried-and-true method for setting and achieving goals. Respond with positive affirmations whenever you doubt your ability to finish strong.

5. Identify a Mentor or Accountability Partner
