Should you let go of a specific person, your current job, past feelings, or resentment? Should you hang on and let them consume you completely? These 11 signs urge you to let go and live your life:

1. You are expected to give up your personal values and transform into someone you are not

In this life, your personal values and vision are the things that fundamentally define who you are. Let go if your job, lover, or friend forces you to be someone you're not. You'll never be truly yourself anyway.

2. Your trust is constantly betrayed

When you fall in love with an idea, a person, an event, or a feat, you become vulnerable. They say that loving means allowing the other person to hurt you, but you trust them not to hurt you, right? Let go if your lover consistently hurts you or if your loved ones consistently don't care about your feelings. You've already been hurt numerous times; what makes you think the pain will go away if you keep holding on?

3. Sticking with it always leaves you broken, depressed, and frustrated

You despise your job, your lover, or your company. You have no idea why you entered this in the first place. You despise who you're with and what you're doing. You're not motivated to keep going.

4. You have a sense of inferiority

Your self-worth is always undervalued. You never seem to feel good anymore. You're constantly taken for granted. Everyone expects you to show up, but when you do, you aren't even respected! Examine yourself and pay close attention to what you're saying: do you truly believe what you're saying? No. So let it go.

6. You can't recall the last time you were joyful

When was the last time you were truly happy—as in truly content, satisfied, and at ease with yourself? Don't put too much pressure on yourself, my friend. If you can't remember anything, it's time to let go and move on.

7. You notice that you are always the one who makes sacrifices

Is it always you who has to give up more time? More cash? More suggestions? Do you always seem to be the one who is in more pain? More annoyance? More angst? Stop chasing, and you'll be doing yourself a favor.

8. Express yourself—how long has it been since you did so?

Why are you still hanging on if your opinions are always suppressed and your feelings are never acknowledged? You know you're capable of more.

9. You refuse to acknowledge the present because it is too painful for you

Instead of confronting the present situation, you choose to live in the past because there are happy memories to comfort you there. You live in delusion and try to convince yourself that everything will work out in the end, even though every fiber of your being knows that it will not. There is inconsistency. Each and every time.

When you're dealing with someone who has a gift with words, it's all too easy to let yourself be swayed. Keep in mind, however, that not everything can be fixed with words. It's usually a bad sign if he says one thing and then acts another.
