Will Life Get Better (The Ultimate Guide + Image Quotes)

Learning is the most important aspect of life. There are ups and downs. The victories and defeats. Those at the bottom looking up to those at the top of the success ladder appear to have gotten there so easily. So, what is their secret to success? What has been their one magical ingredient that has propelled them forward?

It is not just one factor that propels someone to success, but a combination of attitudes and habits that they develop over time, developing habits that can propel them further in order to achieve more. What I have learned personally and from others over the years is that when you feel like quitting, taking a break, or simply not knowing how to reach your goal, it is critical to know how to motivate yourself to keep going.

The art of achieving your goals and pushing yourself forward is to never give up. By not quitting, you continue to outperform those with their buttocks on the sofa making excuses. So, even if you think you're making little to no progress, you're actually making progress! Sure, it can be difficult, tiring, or tedious at times, but if it is worthwhile, you can persevere.

We all get off track from time to time, losing sight of the big picture or our primary goal. We are, after all, human! But the problem isn't that you fall or stumble; the problem is that you don't get back on your horse and continue! Reminding yourself and pushing yourself (even when you're tired, fed up, or ready to give up) is what separates the winners from the losers.

So, whether you want to run a marathon, start a new business, or get that promotion, here are ten simple things you can do to stay on track

1. Recognize that you CAN cope

When you encounter a stumbling block or a setback, knowing that you can deal with whatever comes your way (even if it is unexpected) will help motivate you. If you approach a difficult situation with the mindset that you can't overcome it, you'll find it difficult to push yourself forward. Knowing that you can deal with whatever life throws at you will help you put one foot in front of the other and push yourself forward toward your goals.

2. Don't make perfect the enemy of good

This is something I learned from my first boss four years ago and have never forgotten. “Don't let perfect be the enemy of good,” she would always tell me. I was putting undue stress on myself in my desperation to be perfect at work and not make mistakes (I wanted to make a good impression). Of course, it's important to keep pushing and developing yourself, but don't strive for perfection because it's simply unattainable. Aim to improve yourself one small step at a time, but keep the journey in mind rather than the destination.

3. Understand that one bad day does not spell the end of the world

When you're on your way to achieving your objectives, consider the end result as if you've won the war. There will be a series of battles along the way that you must win, but you will not be able to win them all. But that's irrelevant because you don't have to win all of the battles to win the main war, just the majority of them. When you're having a bad day, week, month, or even year, try to look at the big picture in terms of your ultimate goal. Chances are, it won't matter in the grand scheme of things. You'll be able to push yourself much further if you can remind yourself that one bad day isn't the end of the world.

4. Pose inquiries

Most people, in my experience, don't ask enough questions because they are either too scared or embarrassed, or they simply don't want to be bothered. I'm not sure why, but we seem to live in a culture where asking questions implies a lack of intelligence. The beauty of asking questions, on the other hand, is that you can learn more and learn from others by doing so. By picking the brains of experts, you can absorb their knowledge without making the same mistakes and experiencing the same experiences they did. Asking the right people the right questions can help you achieve your goals.

5. Look for opportunities rather than problems

When pushing yourself further, it is extremely beneficial to adopt a mindset that sees challenges, solutions, and experiences rather than problems. At the end of the day, life is a massive learning experience. Of course, life will throw obstacles at you, and there will be times when you will have to struggle and overcome problems, but as long as you are still standing and come out the other side, you have pushed yourself further. A positive can-do attitude will not magically make problems disappear, but it will assist you in overcoming them, paving the way for a happier and more successful time.

6. Experience the emotions

Life is full of ups and downs, and if it weren't, it'd be pretty boring! It helps to be open to the emotions that come with reaching your goals and pushing yourself further. There will be times when you want to curl up and not leave the house, and there will be times when you want to curl up and not leave the house. But it's okay to cry! Don't fight your emotions; instead, ride them out. You will emerge stronger on the other side.

7. Avoid comparing yourself to others

Unless you are Beyonce, Jay Z, Victoria Beckham, or Bill Gates (with his $79 billion fortune), there will always be someone who is more successful, prettier, skinnier, has a better job, earns more money, has more friends, or lives a more luxurious lifestyle than you. Don't put yourself in the same category as others. You should push yourself because you want to, not because you feel obligated to do so in order to “keep up with the Joneses.” After all, the person with the five-bedroom house and two sports cars in the driveway might not be all that happy! You are your own standard.

8. Eat healthily and exercise regularly

You can't expect to climb mountains or achieve great things if your body and mind aren't functioning optimally. If you want to achieve, your body must be properly fueled, maintained, and trained. The only way to ensure that all cylinders are firing efficiently is to be healthy, both mentally and physically. A healthy diet and regular exercise are essential for this. It's a simple formula, but it works, and anyone can adopt it. Of course, you don't have to go overboard – no one likes the obsessive person who goes to the gym every spare hour, and life wouldn't be fun without the occasional chocolate cake – but make sure you're taking the right steps to ensure your well-being.

9. Recognize that you have control over your life

The beauty of life is that you are in control. It is up to you to decide how you want to live your life and where you want to go. If you can steer yourself in the right direction, you will give yourself the ability to go wherever you want. Knowing and doing this will help motivate you, especially on days when you don't feel like it. Of course, we can't predict or prevent external circumstances, but you can try to avoid them by swerving or driving right over them.

10. Recognize that success is not a straight line

Knowing that success isn't a straight line shooting up has really struck me and helped me spur myself on over the years. It's sometimes one step forward, two steps back, followed by a dizzying round of circles! Accepting this will make you feel more powerful than ever. Knowing what success truly looks like reminds us on those “bad” days that everything is fine and that we are still making progress.

Finally, having fun is the most important thing you can do in life on your path to success!
Put some love and life into whatever you do. That way, when the going gets tough, you can at least do it with a smile!
