1. Get a good night's sleep on Sunday
Getting enough rest on the weekends is one of the things that can get you excited to go to work on a Monday. A good night's sleep is essential, especially on the weekend. To give you a boost of energy on Monday, you must get at least 9 hours of sleep on Sunday. This makes a significant difference, especially when waking up. You'll be well rested and ready to go on Monday.
2. Plan your schedule ahead of time
On a Monday, many of us have no idea what to do. In fact, many people simply figure out what they're going to do for the rest of the week once the nine-to-five workday begins on that day. One sure way to boost our motivation to work on Mondays is to plan out the entire workweek over the weekend.
What motivates you to work on a Monday? It simply reminds you that there is work to be done and that you must get up.
3. Determine the sources of your dissatisfaction with your job
Have you ever felt unmotivated to perform well at work, not just on Mondays, but also on other days of the week? If that's the case, you might as well figure out why. Is it a bad work environment that prevents you from being productive on Mondays? Or maybe you're already burned out at work.
Once you've identified the issue, try to come up with a solution. For example, if you are already feeling burned out at work, why not request a vacation? You could also try a new hobby after work to reduce stress.
4. Take a break from work over the weekend
It's infuriating when you don't get enough rest over the weekend. This is why you see people who are too exhausted to work on a Monday.
One of the reasons you don't recover from a stressful work week is that you don't completely disconnect from work. Instead, you continue to read emails and other work-related materials. Having personal time is essential, especially for someone who is constantly on the go at work. By disconnecting from work, you will be more motivated to work on Monday.
5. Choose appropriate work attire
Have you ever wondered why employees in corporate jobs are required to dress formally? It has been proven that people's attitudes change depending on how they dress. This is why you notice people talking and walking differently when they are dressed formally.
One simple and effective way to boost our motivation to work on Mondays is to wear clothes that make us feel good. Why not put on your favorite outfit that gives you a sharp look on a Monday?
Mondays always seem to be the most difficult day at work. What we don't realize is that it is all a matter of perception. There are always reasons to work hard at any time of day. Hopefully, with these simple tips, your Mondays will be better as well.
